ACT LAB Moves Ohio Cannabis Testing Operations to New Laboratory in Columbus

Expanded state-of-the-art lab facility to support OH’s growing cannabis industry

Columbus, OH – November 19, 2025 – ACT LAB has officially launched full-scale operations at its new state-of-the-art laboratory in Columbus, OH. The company, which operates cannabis and hemp testing laboratories across a six-state network, invested in this expansion to help cultivators and processors across the state navigate Ohio’s evolving and complex regulatory environment.

The new, 4,800 sq. ft. facility is fully operational and equipped with advanced analytical instrumentation to deliver precise, timely testing for potency, microbial contamination, pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and other key compliance requirements.

“Opening our Columbus lab represents a major milestone for ACT LAB and for Ohio’s cannabis industry,” said Tahaney Abuzahrieh, Lab Manager at ACT LAB OH, “Our larger footprint allows us to provide faster turnaround times, greater testing capacity, and centralized support to licensed cultivators and processors statewide.”

ACT LAB welcomed customers, cannabis industry professionals, regulators, and state lawmakers for a behind-the-scenes look at the facility on November 18. The Open House, which provided an opportunity to connect with ACT LAB’s scientific and leadership teams, served as the lead-in event for the Ohio Cannabis Coalition (OHCANN)’s monthly luncheon and meeting.

“ACT LAB continues to raise the bar in Ohio’s cannabis industry,” said David Bowling, Executive Director of Ohio Cannabis Coalition (OHCANN), “Reliable, consistent testing is the foundation of a safe, credible market and we’re proud to have partners like ACT LAB who are committed to advancing industry standards and supporting the continued growth of the regulated cannabis sector.”

Ohio’s cannabis market continues to grow amid shifting regulations and increasing demand for reliable, science-driven testing. ACT LAB’s new Columbus facility is strategically positioned to meet those needs, providing both compliance testing and R&D services to ensure product safety, integrity, and consistency.

“Ohio’s regulatory framework can be challenging for operators to navigate, and our team is here to make that process easier,” said Everett Sanders, Director of Business Development at ACT LAB, “This new facility reflects our commitment to helping Ohio’s cannabis businesses stay compliant, competitive, and focused on quality as the market expands.”

The relocation from the company’s original laboratory site in Toledo to Columbus, the state’s geographic and economic hub, reflects the company’s commitment to expanding operations and providing more efficient logistics, improved turnaround times, and closer proximity to a growing number of cultivators and processors operating throughout the region.
