Job Title: Accountant
Reports To: Controller
Date: June 16, 2023
Job Summary:
Responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping duties including payables, receivables, processing sales orders, payroll entries, and assisting with projects as assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close duties as assigned
- Input all vendor invoices and insure proper approvals
- Post and reconcile all credit card accounts
- Billing for all customers and ensuring it matches the contracts
- Validate all purchase requisitions to ensure that they are properly coded to the correct General Ledger accounts
- Prepare Balance Sheet Schedules for Audit
- Assistance with Financial Audits and Workers’ Compensation Audits
- Review any credit applications
- Input accurate information on insurance applications
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with people inside the organization and people outside the organization including customers, auditors and regulatory agency staff
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist Controller as needed
- Assist Controller on any special financial projects
- Assistance with software integrations
- Perform other duties as may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:
- Associate degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of Accounting or Bookkeeping experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to use pivot tables, “vlookups”, “sumif’s” and other Excel functions
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis
- QuickBooks knowledge
- Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data
- Ability to use computers and computer software programs and systems and standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, and fax machines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Good written and verbal communication skills to convey and receive information effectively (face-to-face, telephone, and electronic)
- Good analytical and judgment skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel and/or financial data
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks, manage time

Work Schedule:
- 40-hour minimum workweek; Monday – Friday
- May require on-call duty and the ability to work outside of scheduled work hours including weekends and holidays when the need arises
